Pastor's Bio
Lovelace St. John is the senior Pastor of Progress Church in the City of Toronto,Ontario, Canada, a spirit-filled, Bible-believing church that ministers healing, hope, inspiration, excellence and restoration to a world in crisis. Pastor St. John has a long history of service to God's people.
Pastor St. John was born and raised in the Caribbean Island of Dominica where he gave his heart to the Lord during his teenage years. Shortly after accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior he began serving as a youth leader at his local church and became passionate for the restoration of lost souls. In order to better prepare to serve the people of God as a lay member, with no desire for pastoral ministry, he began theological studies through seminary extension.
Inthe mid-eighties Pastor St. John immigrated to Canada. In October 1988 he married his love Esther who serves with him in ministry. Their three sons, whom they firmly believe are gifts from God, Joel, Josiah, and Jesse, are the joy of their lives as they raise them to be mighty men of God. Pastor St. John is not only a caring and compassionate pastor to Progress Church, he is a real family man, one who is a demonstrated devoted, loving husband toEsther and an exemplary father to his sons.
Pastor St. John is a visionary, humble man after God’s own heart; he seeks to please God and to teach the importance of God’s Kingdom in the earth, often times reminding congregants that “the Kingdom of God is bigger than the church/assemblies we attend”. Pastor St.John believes religion and tradition only helps to hold people in bondage, therefore, he declares himself to be a Word-Base preacher/teacher in today’sworld.
Pastor St. John’s mission is to minister to the whole man, spirit, soul and body. His powerful and dynamic teachings and his downto earth and personable personality are what sets him apart from the rest. Life-changing anointed messages such as “The Danger of Ravenous Wolves”, “Favor underan Open Heaven” and “Signs of the End Time” helped to draw men and women closer to the Lord and puts Pastor St. John in great demand for preaching and teaching engagements all over Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. He has also been an on-air guest on WUFO Radio and also the program “Ask the Pastor” on WNYB TV in Buffalo New York.
His passion for missions took him to Zambia, Africa where he ministered the Word in cities and local villages and was also a part of an interview panel broadcast on theZambian National Television, (Mission Line International).
Pastor St. John has continued the process of development through his studies in theology, counseling and leadership; he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in church ministry and a Master’s Degree in Christian Studies from The Sure Foundation Theological Institute. Pastor St. John was recently appointed to serve as an Apostolic Elder for the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies in Canada.
The call of God on his life is taken very seriously and it gives him a passion for shepherding other pastors and laity, loving God's people, and ministering God's Word with simplicity, passion and power.
Loved by his family, friends and congregation, Pastor St. John continues in humility to accept the call of God on his life and is driven to reach the world and nation at large by preaching and teaching the un-adulterated Word of God, thereby, bringing healing and restoration to many.
